AMMAN — Italy warned against the consequences of President Donald Trump’s declaration Jerusalem as Israel's capital and moving the US embassy to Occupied Jerusalem, state run-news agency (ANSA) said in a statement late Wednesday.

Italy's position on Jerusalem remains and continues to be based on European and international consensus, on the two-state solution, which is considered "the only solution to settle the conflict, Alfano said in a statement carried by ANSA.

"We view with great concern all the facts and all the decisions, which appear to contradict the path that the international community has taken for such a long time, too long, without seeing the finish line", Alfano said.

We call on all parties to uphold their responsibilities in Palestine and the region to avoid more violence and tension that is not in the interest of anyone, he added.
