Jordan Condemns Series of Terror, Violent Attacks across Europe

AMMAN —AlGhad— His Majesty King Abdullah II denounced the series of violent attacks and terrorism which have taken place in Barcelona, Spain, and Turku, Finland.

The Royal Court announced Friday that the Jordan flag at its main entrance would be flown at half-mast until 6pm, in a gesture of mourning and solidarity with the victims of the Barcelona terrorist attack.

His Majesty reiterated Jordan’s stand by Finland and Spain to the both King Felipe VI of Spain and Finland’s President, Sauli Niinisto.

In a cable to President Niinisto, King Abdullah said Jordan stood by Finland "in these difficult circumstances" and condemned as a cowardly terror act the deadly stabbing attack in Turku.

His Majesty in a cable to the Spanish Monarch, on Thursday, denounced the attack in Barcelona, and reiterated Jordan’s commitment to supporting global efforts to fight terrorism.

His Majesty expressed his deep sorrow and condolences to the families of the victims in both attacks and wished the injured speedy recovery.
