AMMAN —AlGhad— The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) said in a statement today, Monday, that the recent hike in fuel and oil derivative prices is unnecessary, in light of the marginal increase in global oil prices over the last two months.

The Chamber stated that the global increase will not incur any losses for the Treasury or the oil and fuel sector had the government decided to maintain the price range.

Domestically, the government decided to boost the price range by 3.4-6.5 per cent for Octane 90 and 95, Diesel, and Kerosene, respectively.

According to the ACC, this will only increase costs and prices for citizens, consumers, and the transportation sector, not to mention factories, bakeries, shops, and other service facilities.
