AMMAN —AlGhad— The Treasury’s budget deficit after aid and grants increased to JOD540 million within the first seven months of the year, 2017, compared to JOD316.8 million for the same duration last year.
The Ministry of Finance stated that gross deficits before grants and aid stood at JOD674 million, in seven months, compared to JOD565.5 million, for the same duration in 2016.
Notably, deficit after grants and aid in 2017 is estimated at JOD693.1 million, as most of the financial support scheduled for 2017 is expected by January, 2017.
Domestic revenues, on the other hand, by July this year, has increased to around JOD3.966 billion, compared to JOD3.862 billion for the same duration last year.
Non-tax revenues have increased by JOD121.2 million so far this year, whereas revenue from taxation has decreased by JOD31.9 million.
