Cold Air Mass Forecast Tuesday, Cold Front Arrives Friday

AMMAN — The Kingdom will be affected on Tuesday by a cold air mass accompanied by a depression cantered over Cyprus, pushing temperatures down and creating cold, cloudy conditions with rainfall in the central and northern parts of the Kingdom extending to the south-western regions.

Daytime temperatures expected today in Amman, the northern cities will hover around11 degrees Celsius dropping down to 5 and 6 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 22 degrees and lows standing at 15 at night, the JMD said.

Similar weather conditions will continue to prevail on Wednesday with south-westerly moderate to north-westerly winds.

Another cold air mass accompanied by a depression cantered over Cyprus is also forecast to start on Thursday, so the weather will be cold and partly cloudy to cloudy with rainfall at times in various regions, accompanied with hail, thunder and lightning, the JMD added.
