Gold Reserves Up 5% in Q3-2017

AMMAN —AlGhad— The overall value of gold reserves at the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) has increased by 5 per cent in the third quarter of the current year, Q3-2017, around JOD52.3 million worth of gold ounces, compared to Q3-2016, according to the Central Bank’s figures.

By September this year, the value of gold in reserve has increased to JOD1.13 billion, from JOD1.07 billion by the end of 2016.

As for quantity, the Central Bank’s reserves of gold in quantities has declined by 6 per cent, from 1.32 million ounces in the end of 2016 to 1.24 million ounces in September 2017.
