AMMAN —AlGhad— Sources with the telecommunications sector confirmed to AlGhad that the government is considering 3 alternatives out of 9 proposed to cover sector revenue increases allocated by Cabinet, and that they are the most probably options.

These 3 options include imposing a one-time fee on new subscriptions, between JOD3.00 and JOD5.00, an additional monthly JOD1.00 for post-paid subscriptions, and increasing Sales Tax on internet and broadband services, from 8 to 16 per cent, with a possible decrease on certain special taxes which stand now at 24 per cent.
