AMMAN —AlGhad— A source with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army command confirmed to AlGhad today, Thursday, that the factory fire in the Free Trade Zone with Syria was not caused by a Russian air raid.

Contrary to rumours spreading via social media, the fire was started by Syrian IDPs.

According to the source who spoke in anonymity to AlGhad, the IDPs have been toiling to find a way to enter Jordan, as thousands now reside on FTZ grounds.

In fact, he confirmed, the factory where the fire was reported is position at the eastmost end of the FTZ and is clear of any air raids and bombardment.

The point of the fire, according to the officer, is to create chaos and push the IDPs towards the Jordanian border, to place more pressure on the Jordanian authorities.
