AMMAN —AlGhad— Inbound European tourism, according to data by the Ministry of Tourism, has increased by 12.3 per cent over the last eight months, compared to the same duration in 2016, from 280.5 thousand tourists to 315.1 thousand in August, 2017.

Meanwhile, inbound tourism from Arab Gulf countries has also increased by 6.4 per cent, comparatively, for the same durations.

By August 2016, Jordan received 377.4 thousand tourists from the Arab Gulf region, which has increased to nearly 401.5 thousand by August this year, 2017.

Official sources, including the Ministry, say the increase was somewhat factored by the revival of festivals and founding of adventure tourism.

To sustain the increase, Minister of Tourism, Lina Annab, stated that efforts are underway to pin a number of annual festivals and improve entertainment capacities.
