BAGHDAD —AlGhad— Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals Eng Mohammad Shayaa Soudani confirmed to AlGhad that the Iraqi government has authorities customs exemptions for 399 Jordanian products shipped to Iraq.

Obstacles to the flow of trade and land transport between Iraq and Jordan have been resolved, Mr Soudani said.

No terms were imposed on Jordan to facilitate the exemptions, he elaborated.

“There is no reason to hesitate,” he said, “there is point of holding back. We want to open up to Jordan and we will not allow for any parties to place obstacles where there are none.”

According to Soudani, “399 Jordanian products are now exempt of custom duties out of 792, based on the recommendations of the Iraq-Jordan follow-up committee.”
