AMMAN —AlGhad— The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr Mary Quwar and Statistics Department Director Dr Qassim Zoubi met with Secretary General of the Iraqi Cabinet Dr Mahdi Allaq and Iraqi Ambassador Safiyeh Suhail in Amman on Tuesday, to discuss cooperation in the fields of investment, education and reconstruction.

The Iraqi officials invited the Jordanian private sector to capitalise on the investment opportunities facilitated via the latest Kuwait conference.

Iraqi reconstruction efforts led the official discussion between Jordan and Iraq, as it represents an opportunity for the Kingdom’s economy.

During the meeting, Ambassador Suhail spoke about boosting cooperation between Jordanian and Iraqi universities by signing new agreements with public and private universities.

Notably, there are around 180 thousand Iraqi university students in Jordan.

The meeting concluded in a number of joint projects, from demographic surveys to the employment of Jordanian expertise in the fields of international cooperation.
