AMMAN —AlGhad— The Jordanian farmers’ open protest continues for the second day straight today, Wednesday, in front of the House of Representatives’ building in Amman, over the recent hike in taxes and fees imposed on both the inputs and outputs of the agricultural process.

Farmers Association Vice-Chairman Nihad Oleimi confirmed to AlGhad that the stand-in will continue until the tax hikes are revoked.

Negotiations are currently underway between MPs and the government, Oleimi said, and said that the outcomes of these talks will be announced soon, probably later today.

Chairman of the Jordan Valley Farmers Association Adnan Khaddam has reaffirmed to AlGhad that the protest will continue until the government is back to its senses.
