RIYADH — Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi on Monday discussed with Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri efforts to find a political horizon for progress to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution.

In a meeting in Riyadh on the sidelines of a meeting of foreign ministers of the Saudi-led coalition supporting the legitimacy in Yemen, the two ministers also discussed efforts to limit the negative impact of the US decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

The two ministers said they will pursue coordination in their efforts to support the Palestinians and their right to set up an independent state on the lines of 4 June, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

They also reviewed developments related to a political solution in Syria and other regional and international issues of common concern.

Safadi and Shukri affirmed the strong relations between the two countries and the high level of coordination and cooperation in their joint efforts to deal with regional crises and achieve stability and peace in the region.
