OCCUPIED JERUSALEM —AlGhad— Israeli occupation authorities warned that Palestinian protestors in Gaza will be met with live ammunition, should they approach the border and “constitute a threat” during their “Return March” next Friday, Israeli media reported.

Gadi Eizenkot, the occupation military chief of staff, stated to Israeli newspapers that the army has already deployed reinforcement along the enclave borders, including snipers.

Meanwhile, Palestinians in the West bank and Gaza prepare for a major march on Land Day.

The activity on March 30th is to commemorate the death of six Palestinians in 1976, during the protests against the confiscation of Palestinian lands.

Multiple infiltration were intercepted by occupation forces, over the past few days.

At least seven Palestinians, some of them armed, found their way through the borders with Israeli territories from Gaza and the West Bank. They were arrested.

Hamas’s militant parades and shelling also added to the tension, occupation officials underlined, warning that force will be applied to prevent breaches.

Tension with the Palestinians is escalating, Eizenkot told the media. The threat of war is higher this year, he explained, saying that domestic escalations, unintentional ones even, can lead to the explosion of war.

He also explained the complicated Palestinian situation, especially in the upcoming months, as the 1948 commemoration day is soon upon them, as well as the Land Day.

Meanwhile, the Israelis celebrate their 70th “independence” day, in light of the US decision to relocate the US Embassy to occupied Jerusalem, he continued.

The reconciliation is stuck, he underlined, and Hamas is also stuck in it, as the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s term is almost over.

Regarding the situation in Gaza, Eizenkot described it as difficult but stressed that it is not a humanitarian crisis, pledging that Israel will not allow it to collapse.
