AMMAN —AlGhad— The number of Petra visitors has increased by 37 per cent in the first five months of the year, compared to the same duration last year, from 263,868 to 362,490 visitors, Falah Omoush, chairman of the Petra Tourism Development Authority Board of Commissioners, told AlGhad.
Mr Omoush explained that the number of foreign Petra visitors has also increased by 47 per cent, from 198,170 to 291,027, over the same comparative duration.
Hotel occupancy has reached 100 per cent last week alone, he highlighted, due to the leap in tourist influx.
The Authority has more plans for Petra, which will launch in the upcoming months, to attract more visitors he highlighted, Mr Omoush reassured AlGhad.
