Royal Decree to Pass Election Bill Expected Within Days

AMMAN — Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Khaled Kalaldeh weights on the division of the electoral circles (pools) to be conducted within the current week to be drafted and presented to Cabinet, in accordance to the 2015 elections legislation.

In a statement to “Al Ghad”, Kalaldeh confirmed that the drafts were ready but have yet to be presented to the respective executive committee, and clarified that he expects the Royal Decree to pass the new election bill to be declared within days, handing it over to be processed by relevant authorities and bodies.

Moreover, as the Government hold with discretion the new number of seats for every electoral circle, Kalaldeh on the other hand said that the Kingdom will be drawn out in 23 electoral circles, carrying 130 seats in Parliament, including 15 seats for the women’s “quota”.
