AMMAN —AlGhad— The “Science for Peace” 2017 World Science Forum is scheduled to launch at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre in the Dead Sea, on November 7th, 2017, under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

The Forum aims to empower science in the effort to overcome the world’s most pressing issues, hindering development and world peace. The 4-day foum will tackle issues on water scarcity, energy and food, as well as the prospects of the digital revolution, and will focus on young Arab scientists and women in the field.

Hungarian President Janos Ader and UNESCO General Director Irina Bovoka will be co-sponsoring the Forum, fully funded by the UN’s Secretary General’s office.

Notably, this Forum is held once every two years, and this will be the first time it is held in the entirety of the Middle East.
