RAMALLAH — Israeli occupation security early Monday forced Palestinian shop owners in East Jerusalem's main commercial area to shut down their shops. A Jerusalemite in his 20s was also seriously wounded by Israeli forces for carrying an alleged a stabbing attack, and in various West Bank cities, 16 Palestinians were arrested, according to Palestinian sources.

The orders by the occupation authorities to shut down the shops came after the shooting of young Jerusalemite Ayman Kurd, 20 years old, a resident from Ras al-Amoud in Silwan town south of Al-Aqsa mosque.

Israeli police claimed in a statement that 2 policemen were badly injured in the attack, allegedly carried out by the Palestinian youth, and that was wounded and reported in a critical condition.

Moreover, according to a statement by the Palestinian Prisoner's Club, Israeli occupation troops stormed the West Bank cities of Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus and Jenin and arrested 16 citizens, who were apprehended under the pretext they are wanted by the Israeli authorities, the statement added.
